During Monday’s City Council meeting, the City of Belen Fire Department bestowed recognition upon three esteemed members of their team for their exceptional dedication and performance. Honors were given for Firefighter of the Year, ARFF (Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting) Firefighter of the Year, and EMT of the Year. We extend our deep appreciation to these devoted public servants for their unwavering commitment to serving our community.
The recipients of the awards are as follows:
- Firefighter of the Year: Stephen Carbajal
- ARFF Firefighter of the Year: Andrew Sanchez
- EMT of the Year: Brandon Stubben
Additionally, during the same meeting, our Water Department was honored by the New Mexico Water and Wastewater Association. They were presented with the Central Section President’s Award for the City of Belen Ground Water Plant, recognized as the Most Improved Facility in 2023.
