Update on Aggravated Battery Case from 07/27/2023
On 08/12/2023 the victim in this case passed away at the hospital as a result of his injuries. The charges on Andrew Gallegos have been upgraded to an open count of murder. Mr. Gallegos is in custody at the Valencia County Detention Center on those charges.
Stolen Vehicle
On 08/12/2023 a 2020 Ford Mustang red with a black roof and black rims was stolen from the area of 1000 block of Esperanza.
Public Affray
On 08/17/2023, a road rage incident on I-25 evolved into a physical altercation in the area of Main Street and Hwy 116. An AR 15 rifle was brandished but no shots were fired and there were no injuries associated with the firearm. Two subjects were summoned into court for Public Affray (fighting) one male subject was arrested for felony warrants.
Vehicle Burglary/Stolen Firearm
On 08/18/2023, an officer took a report in the 1200 Block of S. Mesa Road, in reference to a vehicle burglary. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that a Springfield 9MM Handgun was stolen. There was no evidence of forced entry into the vehicle.
Traffic Enforcement
Safer New Mexico grant money has been obtained to pay for additional traffic enforcement initiatives. Several operations have been conducted and several more are planned. The area where these operations are planned is the area of North Main St (Hwy 314), I-25 Bypass and the surrounding area. Please be sure to slow down and drive safe.
