Last night, August 1st, the children and families of Belen had a great time at the annual National Night Out. It was a wonderful way to kickoff the school year that begins today and the City of Belen would like to thank everyone who worked so hard putting it together. The City of Belen Police Department, Fire Department, Parks and Recreation Department, and many other dedicated staff contributed their considerable talents to make this year’s event one to remember.
We also partnered this year with the Belen Mainstreet Partnership to kick things off with the Celebrate Kids Parade. Everyone met at the Belen Public Library and Sparky and Officer Hub were there to meet the kids along with some of our finest first responders. The City extends heartfelt thanks to the Mainstreet Partnership for their support of our community.
Those at the Library then paraded down to Anna Becker Park to kick off the festivities! School supplies, backpacks, books, haircuts, and more were given out, everyone got to enjoy a delicious meal courtesy of the Police Department, and there were activities galore! (Including a dunk tank ;))
Thank you to all of the kids and families who came to enjoy the evening and all of the vendors, agencies, and organizations who attended to give back to our community. We are lucky to have such a caring, giving City.
