The Valencia County Historical Society will hold its annual meeting on Sun., Jan. 22, at 2 p.m. in the Belen Public Library. Annual awards will be presented, and VCHS officers will be elected.
Award-winning historian and former lawman, Don Bullis will be the keynote speaker. The title of his speech will be “A Famous Murder and an Infamous Murderer in Valencia County History.”
Much of the presentation will focus on Bullis’s new book, Badman of the New Mexico Badlands: Gus Raney, Multiple Killer, His Legend and Life.
Bullis is shown here with the murder weapon used in the killing of Bud Rice, the famous murder Bullis will also describe. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.
