After much work, community input, and revisions, the 2022 City of Belen Comprehensive Plan Update has been completed, adopted by the City Council on January 3, 2023 and is now available for viewing on our website.
The Comprehensive Plan is a document that guides the City as it moves towards the future looking at the next 20 years and beyond. This document will influence policies, development, and the general direction that Belen takes as we grow and change over time.
It is created by the Planning and Zoning Commission, the current Plan was created with the assistance of a Planning Consultant. Together, they held public meetings and workshops to solicit input from stakeholders.
The Plan was amended and updated taking that input into account. It was then taken before the City Council where it was adopted on January 3, 2023.
