Solid Waste is the disposal of solid material such as packaging, newspapers, magazines, yard waste, kitchen waste, metal, glass or plastic containers.

Much of the solid waste can be recycled, but not all of it. The city contracts with Waste Management for its waste removal.  As a convenience the city also provides a transfer station for city residents. A recycle station is setup north of Belen for the convenience of Belen and surrounding area.
