Belen Public Library Summer Reading Program “Build a Better World” Registration to begin May 3, 2017.

Please stop by the library to register your child for our fun-filled summer programs!

Schedules are as follows:


Children’s Summer Reading Agenda

Tuesdays at 1:30 for Pre-K - 6th grade (0 - 11 Years)

Turn in Weekly Reading Logs and win Prizes!


June 6th:  Kick start your summer with Brenda Hollingsworth Marley as she takes you on a wild ride with her magical singing and storytelling, presented by the NM Humanities!

June 13th:  Join us for a presentation and activities with guest speaker Christine Carter!

June 20th:  The Lego Movie will be shown on the big screen in the Lecture Hall!                                   

June 27th:  Activity Day:  come enjoy games, coloring sheets and snacks!

July 4thNo Programming

July 11th: Belen Fire Department will help us cool off from the summer heat by bringing a fire truck to spray us down! (Don’t forget to bring a towel!)

July 18thHelp us wrap up the summer with our end of summer party where we will draw for our big summer prize giveaway!

Wednesdays at 2:30 Ages 12-18

Read 60 minutes a week and win prizes!

June 7thIf you haven’t registered for the Summer Reading Program, today is the day! If you’ve already registered come and join us for game day and snacks!

June 14th:  Come join Valerie Otero (Ideas for Cooking and Nutrition) as she discusses the importance of good nutrition.

June 21stToday we’ll be showing a movie. (More information as it’s available!)

June 28th:  Plant flowers and decorate a flower pot as a way of building a better world!

July 5th:   No Summer Reading.

July 12thThink you’ve got what it takes to win the Lego Building Challenge? Come and see if your building skills are up to the challenge!

July 19thGet your party on as we wrap up the Summer Reading Program!
